REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
All Students are required to wear the following equipment

Beginner Attire/Equipment:
First 1-4 lessons at a max, students can opt to lesson in basic "closet attire" as seen below. The tack shops listed below often have packages for the beginner rider. We have approved equestrian helmets.

Closet Attire:
For your equestrian lesson, it is important to wear the following items:

1. Boots: Please wear boots with a 1-1/2 inch rubber heel. Blundstone and rubber boots are great options.
2. Flexible Pants: Wear long pants that are not see-through.
3. Polo or T-shirt: Wear a shirt that covers your shoulders and torso/chest. Tank tops and tube tops are not allowed.
4. Coat/Sweater: Wear a fitted coat or sweater and avoid hoods if possible. Layering up is recommended during cooler months!
5. Equestrian Helmet: You can borrow a helmet from the riding school for a maximum of four lessons.

Beginner-Novice Equestrian Attire:
1. Paddock or Field boots: These come in lace-up, Blundstone or rubber styles.
2. Half-chaps: They should sit just below the knee and fit snugly as they stretch over time.
3. Riding Pants: They must be non-see-through. Western riding pants or jeans are acceptable.
4. Shirts: Polo or Equestrian Sun-type shirts are recommended. Sweaters or coats, preferably without a hood, are also good options.
5. Riding gloves: It is advisable to avoid the cheapest option as they won't last long!
6. ASTM-approved Riding helmet: Wearing a helmet while riding is highly recommended. A helmet cover is necessary to keep your helmet scratch-free. It is essential to note that helmets expire five years after the manufacturing date located in the helmet.
7. ASTM-approved Crash Vest: While not mandatory, wearing an ASTM-approved crash vest is highly recommended.

As students advance to higher levels of horseback riding, they must acquire the necessary equipment and gear to ensure their safety and continuous development. Do not delay in obtaining the equipment when asked to do so. Any delay may hinder your riding progression and jeopardize your safety. So, prioritize timely equipment procurement to avoid any unpleasant consequences.
LOCAL TACK & EQUESTRIAN SHOPS:
Unless you know your size, it's best to shop in person. Otherwise, these stores offer delivery. For safety, make sure to get an ASTM-approved helmet, ideally with the MIPS system.
